Photoinitiator 1173 (Chemical name: 2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-1-propanone / 2-Hydroxy-2-methylpropiophenone, CAS: 7473-98-5) is a highly efficient Type I free-radical photoinitiator.
As an efficient liquid UV photoinitiator, 1173 undergoes rapid cleavage upon UV irradiation to generate free radicals, thereby initiating the polymerization and crosslinking of unsaturated resins and monomers. Its outstanding performance advantages include high initiation efficiency, fast curing speed, excellent yellowing resistance, as well as low odor and good color stability, making it highly suitable for transparent clearcoat systems with stringent color requirements.
